Exert

His feet slapped the blacktop as he ran. He heard someone scream "Run, Jack! Run!" but besides that all he could here was heart beating faster as he gained speed. All of a sudden, behind him, Jack could hear a clicking sound. He glanced over his shoulder and saw that woman running in high heels. He kept running faster now so she wouldnt catch. A few seconds later the clicking stopped. Not slowing down, he glanced back again to see the woman had kicked off her heels and was cramming running shoes on her feet. More worried than ever, Jack dove into a nearby hedge that streched as far as he could see.
